matters needing attention
The safety of instrument operators and instrument safety, the normal operation of the instrument within a safe range, and the accuracy of measured waveforms and reliable data should be ensured. Attention should be paid to:
1. The universal oscilloscope minimizes the light spot diameter by adjusting the brightness and focus knob to make the waveform clear and reduce test errors; Do not let the light spot stay stationary at any point, otherwise the electron beam bombardment should form dark spots on the fluorescent screen and damage the screen.
2. Measurement system - e.g. oscilloscope, signal source; Printers, computers, and other equipment. Electronic equipment under test - such as instruments, electronic components, circuit boards, power supplies for the equipment under test, and other equipment ground wires must be connected to a common ground (ground).
When used with a probe, the TDS200/TDS1000/TDS2000 series digital oscilloscope can only measure the waveform of the signal (the signal being measured - the signal ground is the ground, and the output amplitude of the signal terminal is less than 300V CAT II). It is absolutely not possible to measure the floating ground signal of electronic equipment with mains AC 220V or that cannot be isolated from mains AC 220V. (Floating ground cannot be grounded, otherwise it may cause damage to the instrument, such as testing an induction cooker.)
The housing of the universal oscilloscope, the metal outer ring of the signal input BNC socket, the probe ground wire, and the AC220V power socket ground wire are all connected. If the instrument is used without connecting a large ground wire and directly measuring the floating ground signal with a probe, the instrument will have a potential difference relative to the ground; The voltage value is equal to the potential difference between the point where the probe ground wire contacts the equipment under test and the ground. This will pose serious safety hazards to instrument operators, oscilloscopes, and electronic equipment under test.
5. If users need to measure products such as switching power supply (primary level of switching power supply, control circuit), UPS (uninterruptible power supply), electronic rectifiers, energy-saving lamps, frequency converters, or other electronic equipment that cannot be isolated from mains AC 220V for floating signal testing, they must use a DP100 high-voltage isolation differential probe.
